Haruhi hung her head as she collapsed into the bus seat. Ranko smiled in her direction.
"So, I found a school for you-" He began.
"I already have a school, dad." She said quickly.
"Well duh, I knew that. But this school has the perfect courses designed especially for lawyers in training and for one month it's completely free!" He explained happily.
"Well, where is the school?" She asked, growing interested.
"It's in America."
"What?!"
He sighed, and spoke louder. "A-MER-I-CA." That's where the school is."
She sighed. "When does it start?"
He smiled and took a deep breath. "It starts tomorrow morning in Virginia which is on the east side of the states and I already packed your bags and bought your ticket to get there and back by plane so you don't need to worry about that and you can use my credit card if you need to buy something I wish I could go but I can't leave my job and I already called Kyoya so he knows that you'll be gone so don't worry about it is there anything else you need to know?"
She blinked a couple times, allowing the words to sink in. "Does Tamaki know?"
He sighed and sank into his seat. "I don't know. You can call him and tell him now if you want."
"It's too loud on the train. I'll call him later." She decided.
An hour later, Haruhi walked past the giant airport windows as Ranko waved goodbye.
"Goodbye Haruhi!" He called.
She waved as she walked the long hallway into the plane, where she sat in the fifth aisle in the seat closest to the window. Two tall men in business uniforms sat between her and the hallway. She clicked her seat belt on as the plane started and she couldn't help but think she forgot something important.
Several hours later, the plane finally reached the state of Virginia, as Haruhi tiredly walked into the airport, full of bustling people. A duffel bag hit her in the face, alerting her to her surroundings.
She tugged a slip of paper with directions out of her pocket and began her way to the front doors of the building. People hurried in and out of the doors, not caring about who they ran into, and some stopping in the middle of the walkway to chat. Eventually she made it outside and hailed a taxi to a motel three miles away.
"You from Japan?" The driver questioned.
She nodded, not wanting to speak, but sleep.
"My uncle was there once. He said it was really nice."
She nodded again. He finally got the hint that she didn't want to talk, and she dozed off in the backseat.

The Proposal
The house---their house, Haruhi thought with a warm sort of tenderness she hoped would never die---was dark when she pulled into the driveway, the windows
flickering?... as she walked up to the front door. She shrugged it off, figuring that Tamaki had left a candle lit or forgotten to turn the television off again. Haruhi sighed softly to herself. That man would lose his head if it wasn't connected to his neck. She paused, laughing louder at the realization of how cliché that thought sounded. But what could she say? He brought out the cliché in her.
She slid th

Fruits Basket: A Day Out
"Hey Tohru!" Momiji called as he ran up to the little house. Tohru looked up from her little job she was doing to see Momiji jump up the steps.
"Hello Momiji. What's going on with you?" Tohru asked.
"Do you wanna go out for a walk with me? It'll be fun!" Momiji said bouncing on his heels trying hard to contain himself.
"Ummm... Okay, but I should ask Kyo or Yuki to come with me." Tohru said smiling.
"Hooray! I get to spend the day with you!" Momiji shouted out beaming.
"What the heck's goin' on out here? Momiji what are you doing here?" Kyo said grumpily. He had hit his head on the latch to the roof when Momiji ye

Sweeter Than Chocolate…
(A Host Club Valentines Day Fic)
It was the middle of the afternoon, and the wind was cold, blowing bits of late snow onto the beautifully paved walkways around the prestigious Ouran High School. It was Valentines Day, and the illustrious Host Club was packed, so much so, that even Kyoya was asked to step in and entertain, which only happened on rare occasions such as this. The appointment book was full and overflowing, keeping the hosts at their tables or couches until late into the evening.
But for some reason, Tamaki's mind refused to focus. Ever since 3:00pm that afternoon, when Haruhi came in carrying a larg

Her sudden departure to Virginia is a matter of curiosity. Also, it's a wonder how Ranka got a hold of this opportunity for Haruhi. It doesn't seem right that he'd go ahead with this studying abroad venture without first approaching her about it. It's sad that she won't get to see Tamaki for a long while and will be missing his presence. How Tamaki would cope with this matter is something to cover in an upcoming chapter.
